Comments on the HP5 Movie

Whoo hoo, I'm going to see 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'  again tonight. Seriously, this one is my favorite. I can't even watch the first two 'Harry Potter' movies anymore -- they make 'Star Wars Episode One' look like a masterpiece.

Ahhhh!!! I saw HP5 yesterday and at the beginning I was disappointed 'cause (spoiler) first, they didnt have Hermione and Ron as prefects or Harry as the Quidditch captain!!!!!!! There wasn't even any Quidditch in the movie!!!! But I really liked the Dumbledore/Voldemort scene. I think they did a pretty good job of that.

The 5th movie was really awsome! I thought it followed the book pretty well. I mean, the book is long enough, and to put almost all of it in a "no-longer-than-3hr movie" was pretty cool on their part! Afterwards, when we (me and my family) were all driving home, we couldn't help but discuss the differences, what the book had and the movie didn't:
1. Movie -- they didnt mention Quidditch at all.
2. Ron and Hermione didnt become prefects, like in the book.
3. Cho told about the secret D.A, instead of her friend Marietta, or whatever her name is in the book.
4. And lastly, I dont recall Professor Umbridge and her "squad" (lol) breaking into the room in the book. I think they just caught them or something.
Besides all that (which isn't really that much), I thought it was a really really great movie! During the middle, i just wanted to jump in tha screen and slap Umbridge!!! That takes some good acting -- I wish I could tell her that! lol

I disagree with your thoughts about the movie. I too went to the midnight showing, and was not impressed. They cut a lot of content and the movie just seemed too short. I am a semi-obsessed Snape fan, and I believe that he didn't get enough time in the movie. The worst part for me was the Snape's Worst Memory scene. It was very short and showed little or nothing. Sorry, I'm rambling. I believe Snape is good, but he will die in the last book. I don't want him to die, but there isn't much else to do with his character. Anyway, I love your blog!

OK, first of all the movie was awsome for what is the longest book, I think ... but the differences were too much, like no Quidditch and Ron and Hermione not being prefects. But Umbridge (toad lady) never broke into the Room of Requirement; they all got caught running from her, but it's a movie.

I am a die-hard Harry Potter fan, and in my opinion, the movie did not do the book justice. The fight scene was very cool, though, in the Department of Mysteries. They didn't really emphasise how the majority of the wizarding world thought that Harry was an attention-seeking liar, and Dumbledore was a insane fool. I also didn't understand why, while in Dumbledore's office after Harry had the dream about Arthur being attacked, he yelled "Look at me!" That made no sence and contributed nothing to the movie. I am looking forward to the next book, though.

It was pretty good,but like if you havent read the book then it would be very confusing cuz like there wasnt really a plot or anything just a bunch of scenes of umbridge and filch,and not a lot of the occumelcy or w/e. (i was in the bathroom so there might have been a part i missed)Oh  and i think Jake T Austin shoulda been it just cuz i luv him so much

I'm not the only one who thought Luna Lovegood was bloody brilliant, was I?  I OBSESSED over that girl, and the actress who played her character, Evanna Lynch.  I thought she was AMAZING- she was perfect for the role.  I've already devoted a blog to Harry Potter that's covered in quotes by her character.

I can honestly say that the movie was a little dissapointing. The fact that some of the little details like Ron and Hermione being prefects were left out kind of upset me.  Also more people didnt like Harry or Dumbeldore in the book. It was however better then the first two movies but not as good as the 3rd or 4th.

I think Harry could or could not be a Horcrux.  Like someone pointed out, why would voldie try to kill Harry if part of himself was in harry.  But he could because to have a horcrux you have to kill someone before placing the horcrux in whatever.  Harry's scar could be the horcrux because voldemort killed not only both of his parents, but also kind of killed himself.  That could be why harry only feels pain connected to voldemort through his scar.

well first of all the movie was way too short!!! I mean they left out so many important parts like where Hagrid tells about his encounters with the giants, and where Ron and Hermione become prefects, and there was alot of other stuff missing too. I also think that the fight between Dumbeldore and Lord Voldemort was too short. I predict that Luna and Neville will hook up, that Ron and Hermione will hook up, and that Ginny and Harry will hook up. I think Snape tries to protect Harry and ends up dead. I also think that somehow Dumbeldore and Sirius end up coming back and helping Harry defeat Voldemort. And we all know Harry can't die, because he just can't!!!

In my opinion, Harry Potter 5 is probably the darkest of the movies/books. Harry is very depressed, and the movie isn't all happy either! They did leave out a TON of stuff. I was really surpised that the 4th movie was longer than the 5th one. Order of the Phoenix was a longer/larger book, and they left too much out. As for the 7th book, I think that neville will do something totally brave and daring, maybe kill bellatrix? I also think that hagrid might die :( which is too bad, because he's awesome) and I think that Ginny Weasley will also be important (she is by FAR my FAV. CHARACTER!) maybe her and harry will have kids or something in the end. that would be cool :)

I just thought I'd let you know that the reason they didn't mention Harry being captain was because he didn't become captain until his sixth year. Angelina became captain during his 5th year. I was disappointed that they didn't mention Quidditch though. I really liked the character development of Harry and the Twins getting suspended from the team, their brooms taken away... etc

 

Did anyone else cry when Sirius died? *sniff*

I saw the 5th HP movie, and I just thought the movie was made to be one huge filler. The pacing was little choppy, since it just went from sence to scean without too much explanation. It replaced alot of stuff, and they didn't even mention Quidditch. Hey did you notcie that in the book, whenever Dobby the house elf does something for Harry, in the movie they used Nevii? That's what I mean about replacing people. I felt like if someone hadn't read the book beforehand, they would be so lost. The fight at the end was really awsome, but Harry and Cho were supposed to break up. If they don't, how do Ginny and Harry get together in the 6th? I think all the mistakes they made are gonna come back to haunt them

Your right- Hermione and Ron werent prefects! That was annoying... however, there was good reason Harry was not Captain, and its because he becomes captian in the SIXTH book.... lol. But i liked the actors a lot, esepcally umbridge, and the movie was a good one, considering that the 5th book is kinda a filler...

I think that the fifth movie was spectacular!!!!!!!!!! From the dazzling special effects to the much darker tone. I like that as Harry gets older so does the intended audience of the movies. The only things I disliked were the differences between the book and the movie--there were too many; but, they had a time-frame to work with. Although the second movie was close to being three hours long and the book was significantly shorter. But, it doesn't matter, the movie rocked!!!!!!! Especially the dueling scences between The Order & Dumbledore's Army and Voldemort & the Death Eaters.

i believe that a lot will happen in 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'. in the 6th book, the locket note had the initials R.A.B. that could be sirius's brother, regulus black. harry and ginny will end up together, and so will ron and hermione. but i don't know. anyway, i can't wait for the book!

ugh, the 5th movie was not that  good except for the ending,,,,that was sick. But honestly people, they're was no quidditch, they put cho as the culprit for telling about the D.A meetings where we all know was Marietta, we didn't see the part where snape and sirius were about to fight eachother at the headquarters of the order of the pheonix, and worst part of all, we didn't see the entire memory of our favorite wizard (James Potter) embarass Severus; people we didn't even get to see the teenage  Sirius or Remus. (Btw, the rebellion of Fred and George wasn't all exciting) ugh, that new director truley disappointed me............Honestley, Prisoner of Azkaban was better

 They totally messed up the seen with belatricx and sirius. bleatricx hit sirius with a avada cadavra in the movie, but in the book she hit him with a stupify. I can't believe they did that. the movie was the worst. It made those stupid chinese movies that don't make sense seem good. i hope the next movie is better

ending a legacy with harry's death would be wrong. But remember the prophacy? They're either both dead, or both alive. Maybe he will destroy Voldemort, and still live somehow. But dying?? no. We'll all cry. Harry's life is too sad for him to die. =/ man 2 days...

I can't wait for Harry Potter 7!! I pre-ordered it and its finally coming!!!! I don't think Harry's going to die but i desperatly hope that none of the four die. I think Snape is good to, but Malfoy's a coward! The movie was AWSOME!!! No faults whatsoever! Despite Cho. I HATE her!!!! That actress didn't even want to be in the movie, her father forced her. It shows in her acting....

      I think Dumbledore might be alive. Probably not, but maybe. When he was killed Snape had said the killing curse and he flew over the castle wall...That is not the affect of the AVADA KEDARVA (if i spelled that correctly) curse, thats the affect of the EXPELIOMOUS spell (i spell horriblly :( ) Snape may've done NV spelling casting and said something different in his head. And I don't think Harry's a Horcrux, that would be stupid. But we won't know till the book comes.....I wish it was Saturday :(

i you haven't read the book it was an AWESOME movie. well, if you've read the books the movie wasn't that good. they really didn't do the book jusice. it was really confusing, they should have explained better why harry yelled "look at me!" to dumbledore and his feelings. they also left out alot of stuff with creature and how it was his fault harry went to the minestry of magic in th first place. and they left out quiditch all together! that made me mad. they never explained what happened to neville's parents either! they made it seem like they died.  well i should stop rambling. it just made me mad that they left out so  much stuff. i wouldn't have minded sitting through a 3.5- hour long move. i loved looking at dan radcliffe. and the acting was phenominal and i agree that the first two movies were terrible. the best ones are movie 4 and 5. but really, i'm going to stop rambling.

I felt the movie didn't do the book justice as well. Sure, some things were cool -cough, the battle at the depo. of mysteries, and Tonks's change of hair colour when she got mad-  but they left out a lot of things, the one I noticed most  is that they left out most of the advance guard. In the book, a 'surprising amount of people volunteered' or something like that, and in the movie, there was only five. Lupin should have at least been in the advance guard!

I thought that they didn't took alot out of the book and changed alot of things like Cho told Umbridge instied of Mareta and that they don't say that Hermione and Ron become Prefects and that Harry is banned from Qidditch.

I hated the hp5 movie.  They complatly messed up the entire plot.  And they didn't have a full conversation throught the entire movie so they jumped around so much.  I mean first harry is disscusing the order of the Phonex, then he is at his trial, then he is at hogwarts, then he is somewere else.  They don't actualy complete any sceen. And all the funny details went out the window.  Those are my favorite part of the book!  The only good thing about the movie was umbridge...She nailed her caracter!

I think that Neville is the key, not Harry.  Neville will be the one that Voldemort will kill.

I have some comments:

1) There was no Quidditch because of budget and time-Quidditch is time-consuming and costly to film.

2) The movie sucked because Neville never saw the Thestrals is Hagrid's class, and it was too jumpy, and focused on small details. My mom read the first four books, and the sixth one, and couldn't fill in the gap in between.

3) Does anybody else think that Harry and Cho barely talked?

4) The guy who plays Seamus Finnigan is dreamy in all aspects (look, voice, etc.).

5) This movie was by far the most suckish.

Ummm. I went to see the movie last weekend. And i was totally excited!! I mean it has been a few years since the last one. But just sitting there, even from the begining i was VERY disapointed. The movie felt so rushed. I know that this is one of the longest books in the series and to fit all of it into one movie less than three hours would be almost impossible. But even some of the important things that they stressed to include were barely shown for more than a few minutes. and it wondered so far away from the book's original plot. (SPOILER ALERT!!) Yes it did have that, oh so important fight scene at the end but i think that some would have to agree that it did not hold my attention as much as the big fight scene at the end of movie 4. Vurtually everything was cutshort. And did you see Snape's memory of Harry's mom and dad? if not i really don't blame you. it was shown for only about 30 seconds. And really i found this to be one of the most interesting parts of the story. I mean you got to learn so much about Harry's parents. Ok to finally end this I think OVERALL this movie will confuse and ultimately be missleading to people who do not read the books. Because it left out many elements that JKR has said are important to the overall plot of the series. It will be difficult to create to sixth movie and seventh when so much of their plots' rely on the happenings of the fith book/movie. I do however aplaud the actors and crew for making the movie for interesting. the plot for the movie however was a disapointment

I think that in the last book, Hermione and Ron will live. But, they will watch Harry die. Also, Harry and Voldemort will kill each other. I agree, Neville will kill Belatrix in revenge 4 his parents. Scratch that, Harry will kill Voldemort and then die some other way.

I really wan to go see the new Harry Potter movie I think that it will be really good. Ive loved Harry Potter ever since the first book came out every time I watch the movie or read any of the books it feels like a master peice to me every time. I could never get tired of them. I also cant wait to get the new book and cant wait to see what happens.

i finished reading the 7th HP book. it is very good, but (spoiler) lots of people die. the 5th movie is kind of disappointing, but the special affects are really good. everyone should read the last HP book

J.k Rowling said before that there were not going to be anymore seens  with Quidditch Thats why no one seen it in the movie.Neville does not die he becomes a teacher at hogwarts. And Harry and ginny have three kids two boys and a girl , James, Lily and Albus Severous.

I did not even read the fifth book and must agree that th movie felt short. It was missing a lot from the pages i did read though, and the countless book reports i heard on it.

i think that in the movie they didnt talk that much and the scene after harry kisses cho ron and hermionie where spose to get into a fight and i cant belive they totaly ignored ron trying out for the quiditch team and harry being captan and ron and hermionie being prefects. for the next movie i think they should do part one and part two like 2 hours then the next week you come back and see the rest so then they could get all the details of the movie in there, because there is no way you can get like 750 pages of movie into 2 hours! ... but other than that is was a really good movie :)

i have already read the 7th book twice and i am not going to tell what happened. but i will tell everyone who is getting the book not to read the last chapter before you get there! and i have read all the 'i think this will happens' and nobody is completely right. : )

hp5 left out some of my favorit secens such as the departure of fread and george andit was two jumpy if they would haved made every scean full lenght it would have bean a 3 to 4 hour movie and i would have sta thought it

I was totally disappointed in HP5, it was lame. They left out so many things, I wanted to see so much more at the ministry. They couldve extended the length to add those parts.. and I wanted to see some Quidditch action !! I cant wait for HP6 or 7 because it will be so much exciting, (I hope.) Overall HP5 was barely ok in my book.
