I invited some of my friends but, they said that they need a password of the blog. I don't know where this password is. What is this password? If you have a semi-private blog, you'll have to send an invitation to your friends allowing them access. But they couldn't send your blog link to anyone whom you didn't authorize to see it. To send an invite to a semi-private blog, click on "Send to a friend" in the upper left corner of your blog. If you chose "private," no one can see your blog except you. How do u delete a blog? Do you know that I get answered this question every single time? Do you guys scroll down to see the Q's that have already been answered? Just one more time, since I'm in a good mood today, will I answer this question. Here goes: You can have up to 10 blogs, but if you really really don't want one anymore: Click on "Edit My Blog Settings" in the upper left corner of the blog you want to delete. That will bring you to a page with four big buttons. UNDER the buttons, you'll see another line of text that says, "To delete this blog, Click Here." Guess what you do then? :) How do i get back to my blog after i log out? You have to be logged in under the screenname with which you created your blog, so once you've logged back in, go to KW: RED Blogs and you'll see a list of all the blogs you have. hello i don't know how 2 post my blog on the board thing i know how 2 get there but what do i do next i'm talking about needing step by step here please and ty OK, so once you're looking at the RED Blogs Board, see the row of long buttons on the right side of the window? Click on the third one down, "Add a Subject." Type in something for the subject (the heading that will appear on the message board) and then in the body of the form, write your message. Make sure you include the link to your blog so that other members can find it. Don't know what the link to your blog is? It's located in the browser window (where you would type in a Web site address). Highlight the link, then hit Control and C at the same time to copy it, and Control and V to paste it into this field, or an IM window or email form if you so desire. I want to know how to make the scroll bar on the end of the page to make the whole blog move instead of just the main entries??? In case it may affect it 3/4 of my blogs are premade layout but I really want to make the scrollbar on the end of the page ok thanxs If you have a half-size blog, your scroll bar will always scroll just the entries, not the page. Do you want to make your blog be full-page like this one? Here's how: When you're looking at your blog, all the way in the very upper left corner, above everything else, you'll see something that says "Edit my blog settings." Click on that, and then click on the "Change Skin" button, then the "Create Your Own Skin" button. The first option in the left column says "Page Scrolling." Select "Full Page" and then click "OK" the 30 times it asks you to click "OK." ;-) If you're starting with a pre-made layout, you'll also need to select the rest of the features you'd like to Create Your Own Skin, because the full-page option and full-scrollbar option are only available with the customized (Create Your Own Skin) feature. When you make a blog, can your friends get to it? Yes and no. They probably can't search for it, because you're smart enough about your safety to not include super-personal info, right? If you've chosen the "public" option for your blog, you can email the link directly to friends, so they can see it (if you want them to, of course). Hey how do i get a layout for my blog? Go here. All your questions will be answered, with photos and everything. Now that's service, right? ...and how do i get people to come? Post a message on the RED Blogs Board. Make sure you include a link to your blog. If you just say won't be able to find it. something like, "Come to my blog" or "Check out Brittany's Blog" and don't include a link, all your work will be for nothing. How do i add a comment to a blog, I know u said that they need to be aproved but i cant even work out how you type 1. do you know? I do know -- and so do you. What you posted was a comment. :) hey i read all the questions and answers but i'm still a bit confused. can you help me out? i just started, i don't even have a blog yet. i have AOL and it showed me where to click to start a blog but it just showed this comment page and i don't know where to go next. Go to KW: RED Blogs. If you're signed in under a Young Teen or Mature Teen account, you'll see a big red button on that page that says something like "Create a Blog." i need help!! i have made a blog but every time i try to see if my blog is up on the blog board its not!!! Do you mean the RED Blogs Board or RED Picks? You have to post your blog on the RED Blogs Board yourself. RED Picks are chosen by, well, me. (Don't everyone email me at once, OK? Please, I can't take the pressure.) The best way to get on RED Picks is to post on the RED Blogs Board, which I read to look for blogs to put on RED Picks. Here's how to make a RED Picks-worth blog. If your blog is super-cool and it's still not on RED Picks, have patience and keep posting on the board. Not everyone can be chosen every week, and at the very least, your blog is getting publicity from the RED members who are reading the board. I was wondering if there were any dangers to the RED blog and who can read it, like is it the people i admit only ? and do they have to have AOL or can they have AIM? just wondering...... see ya. If you've chosen the "public" option for your blog, anyone with an AOL or AIM account could potentially see it. Only members with Mature Teen accounts have the public option. Both Mature Teen and Young Teen account-holders have the semi-private and private options, so if you'd like to keep your blog on the DL, choose one of these. If you have a semi-private blog, you'll have to send an invitation to your friends allowing them access. To do this, click on "Send to a friend" in the upper left corner of your blog. If you chose "private," no one can see your blog except you. Do blogs cost money? Nope, it's free for AOL members! And only AOL members can have them (as of now). Can review blogs get on RED Picks? They can, as long as the blogs they're linking to meet all the RED Blogs Guidelines (such as no copyrighted images or vulgar language). How do i tell a friend how to add a comment? How do i add a comment, period? By clicking "add comment" and typing in your comment, as you just did. What you posted here was a comment. :) Oh, I will never get tired of this question. Can you have more then one blog? Yes, you can have up to 10 blogs per screen name.

Can you have a set signature on your blog so it comes up on your entry? And I don't think you should post questions more than 3 times. Because I've seen How do you delete a blog in almost everyone of your FAQ's. You can't have a set signature for your blog -- however, you could always create one and save it in your AOL e-mail or in a document on your computer that you can paste into your blog each time you make a post. As for the repetitive questions -- people keep asking, so I keep answering. Would be nice if they scrolled down, though. ;-) Hi, I wanted to know if there is a limit to the amount of posts you can have in one blog... please answer thank you!!!Nope, no limit. Post to your heart's content! I have invited my friend to visit my blog but i accidentally deleted her name. will she be able to visit my blog? and if not how can i get her to see it?Can you try inviting her again? Let me know if that doesn't work. Ok, i'm not a member of AOL. however...i do have AIM. is there anyway i can create a RED blog account? i have a screen name and everything, because i use to be an AOL member.Sorry, you can't have a RED blog account right now. However, you can read other people's RED blogs. OMG! You helped me so much ....like 3 or 4 of those questions were my questions also! THANKSYay! You're very welcome. Hey, I have a problem! My cousin has a private blog, and every time she invites me I can't go to it!! I know it is already in your FAQ, but can you please IM me when you find out y I can't see it?Sorry, I can't IM you, but check back here. I will post when I hear that this has been fixed. i dont know how u leave a commentUm, you know that you posted that as a comment, right? ;-) Comments need to be approved by the blog's owner before they are visible to the blog's readers. That's why you didn't immediately see the comment you posted. If you go back to that entry now, you will see it because as this blog's owner, I've approved the comment. Make sense? when do you change the RED picks??? please answer this questionUsually once a week, but there's no set schedule. Sometimes if things get kinda busy here at RED, it's a litle less frequent Can you get on RED Picks with a semiprivate blog?Nope, sorry -- because none of us would be able to see it. Hey, I customized my blog and I love it, but I don'y really like my clock. Is there a way I can change my clock without changing my skin? You can't change your clock, although you can change the color and style of the border around it. Click on "Edit my blog settings," then "Change skin" and then "Create my own skin." From there, select "Clock" and then the color and style you'd like for your border. Omg i can't find more than 3 people's blog help me please i neeed help, desperately. i love 2 use blog but i can't if u don't give me more people's blog 2 look @ !!!! Look on the RED Blogs board, where RED members advertise their blogs for others to read. i try to click on the start button on the main page, but it won't let me. yes i have a young teen accountYour computer might have "forgotten" you're on a teen account if your parent with an adult account or a younger sibling with a kids' account shares the computer. If you're using Windows, you can clear this out by clicking the Start button on the bottom of the computer screen, then Settings, then Control Panel, then Internet options. Click on both Delete Cookies and Delete Files, and you should be fine when you return to the blogs page. If not, try refreshing by pressing Control and F5 at the same time. After you create a blog where do u go to find your blog to add a new entry?Go to Keyword: RED Blogs and you'll see a link to your blog. When i wanna make my blog public it wont let me -- it only says the personal or semi -- i want it public!!!!!!!!!Are you on a Young Teen account? Only Mature Teens can create public blogs. If you are on a Mature Teen account and still can't select the public option, it's possible your computer's memory is thinking you're on a different setting. I already have a blog but I just changed screen names. How do I get my blog back?Sorry, if you're on a new screen name, you'll have to create a new blog. :( Go to Keyword: RED Blogs to create one.

If you have a public blog, you can email the link directly to friends, and post your link on the RED Blogs Board. If you have a semi-private blog, you have to send an invitation to your friends so they can read it. To do this, click on "Send to a friend" in the upper left corner of your blog. how do i get to see my visitors, like their screenames? Sorry, you can't see your visitor's screen names, but you can add a visitor counter to track the number of visitors you have. To add one to your blog, click on "Edit My Blog Settings" in the upper left corner of your blog. That will bring you to a page with four big buttons. Click on the "Change Layout" button. Then you can click/hold/drag the visitor tracker box into your layout. okay how do I make a blog i am clueless please help Go to Keyword: RED Blogs. If you're on a Mature Teen or Young Teen account, you can then click on the red button that says "Create a new blog." help !!!!!! i want my blog to be public but when i try and edit it, i cant click on it to make it public the circle selector thingy is unhighlighted Are you on a Mature Teen or Young Teen account? Only Mature Teens can create public blogs. If you are on a Mature Teen account and still can't select the public option, it's possible your computer's memory is thinking you're on an Adult or YT setting. If you're using Windows, you can clear this out by clicking the Start button on the bottom of the computer screen, then Settings, then Control Panel, then Internet options. Click on both Delete Cookies and Delete Files, and you should be fine when you return to the blogs page. If not, try refreshing by pressing Control and F5 at the same time. how come my friends cant get into my blog, u know, the ones i invited? Sorry to hear that! I've heard that this is happening to several users. I'm going to report it as a problem so that it can get fixed. ok i read this funny blog and i wanna read it again it's called the comedy blog so when i search for it i can't find it there's another blog called the comedy blog????? but that's not the one. I wanna find the list of all the blogs how do i do that Sorry, there's no master list. You can search for blogs by going to KW: Red Blogs and typing in the search box, which you mentioned you know how to do already. I did the search myself and found one blog under that name. I tried to make a Me Movie but when I made it, it wouldn't let me in and I had to click out of my blog and go back in to delete it. It's my entire profile that has a technical problem. I tried to put my picture in the profile and it said it worked but it didn't show up. Try refreshing by pressing Control and F5 at the same time. Let me know if that doesn't work. Why is no one reading my blog? i dont get it. please write me back Have you tried posting the link on the RED Blogs Board? Remember, you have to post the actual link to your blog so that users can click on it -- they won't be able to visit it if you just give the name. when i look at other people blogs on RED picks, i've seen some with pictures off the Internet. so why are they on RED picks???? It depends on whether they're rights-free or royalty-free images. Some sites, allow visitors to use images, icons, glittery pics and avatars for free. If you're seeing copyrighted pics on RED Blogs, it's likely that the users added those images after they were already selected for RED Picks. Copyrighted images aren't permitted on RED blogs, and when selecting blogs for RED Picks, we definitely won't select blogs that use them.

What's a blog? A blog is an online diary/journal where you can record your thoughts, opinions, likes/dislikes, daily life, anything you want! It can be private (only you can see it), semi-private (only you and people you've specifically permitted can see it), or public (anyone with an AOL screenname can see it, and someone with an AIM screenname can see it IF you give them the link). How do i get in RED Blogs to start my own blog? Make sure you're on a Young Teen or Mature Teen account; then go to KW: RED Blogs. I want to put some pictures on my blog but I can't. No matter how small they are. I even check to make sure they are the right type of format and everything and it just won't let me put them on. Any suggestions????? After you add the photo (by Browsing on your computer), are you clicking Upload before you click Save? That's usually what trips me up. Are all blogs certified by AOL to make sure they are safe? Yep! Blogs are regularly screened by AOL staffers for inappropriate language, pictures and content . Can u please help me? i want to invite anyone to my blog. Post on the RED Blogs board! Ok so if I create a blog, can people get on there and get my personal information and then put viruses on my computer?? Nope! It simply is not possible for people to give your computer viruses -- unless you open email attachments or other content from people you don't know. Make sure that you don't post any personally identifying info such as full name, hometown, etc., so that you stay safe. Whenever i make a blog instead of showing my AOL screen name it shows my brothers AIM screen name how do i change it??? And yes i made it when i was on my AOL screen name!!! Your computer just "forgot" it was there because your computer got "used to" a different screen name being used. I can't get back on my blog, HELP. If you had a lot of inappropriate content, it's possible that your blog was deleted by AOL, but you should have received a warning email asking you to correct your entries first. More likely, your computer may have forgotten which screen name should be used (the one associated with your blog). Try the computer-clearing solutions mentioned in the answer above. I want to get a layout that I can customize, but how do I do it? Can I do it if im on Young teens for AOL? Anyone on a Young or Mature Teen account can create a RED Blog. You can change the skins (backgrounds) and layout as many times as you want. When you're looking at your blog, all the way in the very upper left corner, above everything else, you'll see something that says "Edit my blog settings." Click on that, and then click on the "Change Skin" or "Change Layout" buttons. Is the blog free? Yes, it's free to create a RED blog. I was wondering if anyone bad can see this. There are lots of safety precautions you can take. First and foremost, make sure that you don't post any personally identifying info such as full name, hometown, school etc. Second, you can choose to make your blog private (only you can see it) or semi-private (only you and people you've specifically permitted can see it). If you are on a Young Teen account, your blogs are automatically semi-private. Hey... i just want to ask you, How do i see how many people have been on my blog? A visitor tracker will count your number of readers. To add one to your blog, click on "Edit My Blog Settings" in the upper left corner of your blog. That will bring you to a page with four big buttons. Click on the "Change Layout" button. Then you can click/hold/drag the visitor tracker box into your layout. How do i delete my blog? You can have up to 10 blogs, but here's how to delete the ones you really really don't want anymore: Click on "Edit My Blog Settings" in the upper left corner of the blog you want to delete. That will bring you to a page with four big buttons. UNDER the buttons, you'll see another line of text that says, "To delete this blog, Click Here." Guess what you do then? :) i just had one quick question...how do i view my comments? stupid question, i know, i know, but can you please answer me? Below the post that's received comments, you'll see something like: "Comments (2) for validation," which will be linked. Click on that link and it will take you to see your comments. You'll have to check the box on each individual comment to "approve" it so that other readers will see the comment. If you don't like the comment, you can click to delete it. I want to create a blog, but my parents are curious about the security on a blog. They want to know: I f I make a semi-private blog, How can I be sure that only the invited have access to it? How secure is a blog? If your blog is semi-private, ONLY people you specifically invite will be able to see it. But as always, stay safe by never posting your full name, hometown, school or other personally identifying info on your blog. How can i look at more blogs? Go to the RED Blogs Board, where RED members advertise their blogs. Who picks the blogs for the RED picks? RED staffers pick 'em -- and we get 'em from the RED Blogs Board, so if you want a shot at being picked, be sure to post your blog link there. Also, read this to see all how we choose. Can I get pictures off of the Internet to my blogs? If not how do I get pictures on my blog? HEEEEELLLLPPPP!!!! You can post rights-free or royalty-free images to your blog, but posting copyrighted material is prohibited. If you want to upload your own pics to your blog, click "Add New Entry" and then click "Add Photo" at the bottom of the "Add New Entry" window. Click "Browse" to find the image file on your computer; then click "Upload." Add text if you so desire; then click "Save" to publish the entry. Hi. I am on a Young Teen account and I know that I have to invite my friends to see my blog, but if I put it on the Blog Board and give the other bloggers the link, can they still view it? Sorry -- all Young Teen blogs are semi-private. You'll still have to send invites so that members can read your blog. I've seen Hilary Duff's blog on RED, and I really like it. Is there any possible way you can create a blog that looks like that? Sorry, we created Hilary's blog especially for her. However, there are lots of other skins and backgrounds you can use to make your blog original. Click on "Edit My Blog Settings" in the upper left corner of your blog to customize your layout. i just created a blog, and my skin is goth. i want to change it to graffiti, and i know how and everything, but when i do, the last part of my title is cut off. What's going on? I'm betting that the headline font size is too large in the graffiti style. Go into "Customize" and decrease the headline font size. That should solve it. How do i post my blog on the RED message board? Go here to post the link to your blog. Don't know what the link to your blog is? It's located in the browser window (where you would type in a Web site address). Highlight the link, then hit Control and C at the same time to copy it, and Control and V to paste it into an IM window or email form. So, if my blog is private, no one can even access it but me? How about just private entries? Are they displayed to visitors? Are they available to me? Your private entries are only viewable to you. See, I wanna change my picture for my profile. But everytime I get a picture, it won't upload, even if the new picture I wanna add is gif or jpeg. And it's annoying me, I don't get it. Help? Hm... Are you deleting the previous picture first? Try deleting it and then refreshing (click the "Refresh" button or hold down Control and F5 at the same time). If that's still not working, post a comment here. No fair! Shouldn't us young teens at Least be able get parental permission to Make our Blogs Public! My Parents are fine with it, but don't want me to get a mature teen account. And Frankly, I don't WANT an older account! Sorry 'bout that! The only thing they can do to let you have a public blog would be to push your account up to Mature Teen. Your parents could then reduce all Parental Control settings (such as Web access and IM abilities) to the level you were at on Young Teen, with the exception of having a public blog. Why do the profiles show the person's screename? what if we dont want our screename to show? Screen names show up automatically, but you can work around this depending on what you want (or don't want). If you don't want people you know to see your blog, create another screen name. AOL accounts can have up to seven screen names, so if your family has an empty one, simply create a "secret" screen name (with your parents' permission). If you don't want to receive IMs from people you don't know, click on "Safety" on the top AOL menu bar and then "IM settings." If you don't want to receive emails from people you don't know, click on "Mail" on the top AOL menu bar and then "Mail settings." What will happen if I get a new screename? Will my blog be erased? PLEASE HELP ME! Your blog will still be around as long as you don't delete your old screen name. Unfortunately, blogs can't "migrate" to new screen names.

I want to change my skin, but my blog is already saved. Is there a way to change it? Sure is. You can change the skins and layout as many times as you want. When you're looking at your blog, all the way in the very upper left corner, above everything else, you'll see something that says "Edit my blog settings." Click on that, and then click on the "Change Skin" or "Change Layout" buttons. How do you put your blog on the RED Blog Board? Go here to make a post. How do you read your comments? Below the post that's received comments, you'll see something like: Comments (2) for validation, which will be linked. Click on that link and it will take you to see your comments. You'll have to check the box on each individual comment to "approve" it so that other readers will see the comment. If you don't like the comment, you can click to delete it. How do I see who has looked at my blog? Sorry, you can't see the screennames of people who have viewed your blog, but you can add a visitor tracker that will count your number of readers. To add that to your blog, follow the instructions in the answer above and click on the "Change Layout" button. Then you can click/hold/drag the vistors box into your layout. I just made a blog and I have no idea how to work it. Nobody gives me comments, nobody visits. Read this feature about getting more viewers for your blog. Also, make sure to post on the RED Blog board to advertise your blog to other RED bloggers. How do I send my blog to my friends? They have AIM and I'm on AOL. You can do it two ways: First, when you're looking at your blog, click on "Send to a friend," which is located all the way at the top of the page. That will take you to a page where you can enter their email addresses. Or you can send them the Web site link. The link to your blog is located in the browser window (where you would type in a Web site address). Highlight the link, then hit Control and C at the same time to copy it, and Control and V to paste it into an IM window or email form. Also, keep in mind that your friend will have to enter their AIM screenname & password to view your blog. Are posts the same as comments? Posts are the entries that you write in your blog. Comments are the responses that your visitors write to you. How do you get your poll results? Here's how to add a poll to your layout: When you're looking at your blog, all the way in the very upper left corner, click on "Edit my blog settings," and then click on the "Change Layout" button. Drag the poll option onto your layout and click Save. Go back out to view your blog and you'll be able to add a poll that way. Your poll results will continuously update as viewers vote in your poll. I made a blog, then I made another and another. How do I delete the ones I don't want anymore? You can have up to 10 blogs, but here's how to delete the ones you really really don't want anymore: Click on "Edit My Blog Settings" in the upper left corner of the blog you want to delete. That will bring you to a page with four big buttons. UNDER the buttons, you'll see another line of text that says, "To delete this blog, Click Here." Guess what you do then? :) How can I get a link for my blog? Like if I want to put it in my AIM profile or something, how can I get the link for it so other people can see it? The link to your blog is located in the browser window (where you would type in a Web site address). Highlight the link, then hit Control and C at the same time to copy it, and Control and V to paste it into an IM window or email form. Also, keep in mind that your friend will have to enter their AIM screenname & password to view your blog. How do I get my blog rated? One of my friends had theirs rated and I want mine rated. Here's how to get your blog on RED Picks. Is there any way you can have a profile without your screen name showing? Like if you wanted to have a secret blog? You'll always have to have a screen name associated with your blog, but ask your parent or guardian if you could create a new "secret" screen name. Each AOL account can have up to seven screen names. So I normally click on The Lounge -- then Blogs -- then Create Your Own -- and my current blog is up there and I just click on it, but now I go there and it has the thing where you create one. Is my blog not existent anymore more? Where did it go? Probably, your computer just "forgot" it was there because someone on a different AOL screen name was also using the computer. If you're using Windows, you can clear this out by clicking the Start button on the bottom of the computer screen, then Settings, then Control Panel, then Internet options. Click on both Delete Cookies and Delete Files, and you should be fine when you return to the blogs page. (By the way, you can get to the blogs page much quicker by entering Keyword: RED Blogs!) I used to have an awesome blog. Now it is signing on as my friend's screen name, and i just want to make a new blog! It won't let me change my screen name. Whenever I go the link that says "sign in as a different user," I type in all my correct information, and it still goes back to a screen with HER screen name. Ah, the ol' "sign in as a different user"issue. Follow the same instructions I gave in the answer above and this should solve your problem. I want to create a public blog, but when I try, it says that I need to be a Mature Teen. You're probably on either a Young Teen or an Adult AOL account. You must have a Mature Teen account in order to have a public blog. Ask your parent or guardian to check the parental control settings on your account. I started a blog yesterday and I dont know how to get back to it. Please help me!! Go to Keyword: RED Blogs and you should see any and all of your blogs in the middle of the page, under the heading My Blogs.

In the future, we plan to add a guest book so visitors can sign in and leave you a note if they want. How do I read comments for my blog and can I be notified when I get new comments? There's two parts to this. First off, you have to allow visitors to leave comments. You do this by clicking on the "Allow Comments" check box when you create an entry. If you don't allow comments, visitors won't be able to write any.Any comments that are made by a visitor to your blog need to be approved by you before they are publicly posted.
